Community Investment in Western Canada Gas

ConocoPhillips Canada employees are making a significant difference to the success and continuation of small organizations and programs in their community. They manage ConocoPhillips Canada’s investment in their community through a large number of grassroots organizations.

Grande Prairie Regional Hospital

In 2009, ConocoPhillips Canada donated funds towards the ongoing development of the Queen Elizabeth II Regional Hospital in Grande Prairie. Our investment is enhancing the level of patient care offered at the hospital. We supported the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Foundation for the purchase of specialized equipment, which will increase the capacity and capability of the hospital to provide vital life-saving health care services for the citizens of the northern regions of Alberta, northeastern British Columbia and the Northwest Territories.

Fort St. John Child Development Centre Society

ConocoPhillips Canada supported the Child Development Centre’s ”Build-A-Fort” building expansion project in 2009. The project will add a 9,600-square-foot wing to the existing facility to include a gymnasium, life skills centre, interactive play centre, early learning centre, and early childhood, infant development, family support and rehabilitation program areas. This investment supports the enhancement of young people’s everyday skills.

Operation Hot Lunch

ConocoPhillips Canada is pleased to support Operation Hot Lunch at the Berry Creek Community School in Cessford, Alberta. This program was designed to encourage staff and students to develop good eating habits by promoting the consumption of nutritious foods. Once a week nutritious meals are prepared and served with the help of volunteers, including some from ConocoPhillips Canada. This program was featured in the local paper, where the school said “We would like to offer a special thanks to ConocoPhillips’ employees for their continued support. It has become very evident that education, youth and the community are a priority for ConocoPhillips.”
