Community Investment by the Numbers

Community Investment includes financial contributions, volunteer hours and gifts-in-kind, all of which promote the well-being of communities and our employees. We invested over $5.5 million in Canadian communities in 2008 and $6.3 million in 2009.

In 2008 and 2009, our employees collectively volunteered over 28,000 hours on a variety of community projects, including the Calgary Drop-In and Rehab Centre, United Way Days of Caring, Calgary’s Connaught School, a Christmas Hamper Program and many other local community agencies. Through our Valuing Volunteers Fund, we donate $500 to individual community organizations in which our employees are actively involved. In 2008 and 2009, this fund contributed over $170,000 to more than 337 organizations.
